A dramatic video showing a Korean Air aircraft struggling to land at Narita International Airport has gone viral on social media after the plane was forced to abort its landing attempt due to strong winds and turbulence.
According to reports, the flight was being operated using an Airbus A321neo aircraft registered as HL8532. The plane, which is around 2.6 years old, was approaching the runway when difficult weather conditions created a dangerous crosswind situation during descent.
The viral footage captured the aircraft swaying sharply from side to side as it neared the runway. The plane appeared unstable for several moments, with its wings rocking visibly while the pilots attempted to maintain alignment with the runway amid turbulent winds.

Just moments before touchdown, the flight crew decided to perform a “go-around” manoeuvre – a standard aviation safety procedure where pilots abort the landing and climb back into the air to attempt another approach later. The aircraft was seen suddenly gaining altitude after the aborted landing attempt.
Reports said the pilots managed to regain control smoothly during the manoeuvre, preventing what could have become a far more serious situation. No injuries to passengers or crew members were immediately reported, and there were also no reports of damage to the aircraft.
The incident once again highlighted the challenges pilots face during crosswind landings, especially at busy international airports where rapidly changing wind conditions can make approaches unstable. Aviation experts often describe go-arounds as routine but important safety decisions taken whenever landing conditions become unsafe.
The video quickly spread across social media platforms, with many users praising the pilots for their calm handling of the situation and successful execution of the aborted landing procedure.
