Kairav Gandhi, the 24-year-old son of prominent Jamshedpur industrialist Devang Gandhi, who was kidnapped earlier this month, has been recovered safely following a coordinated police operation, officials said on Tuesday. The rescue brings relief to the family after nearly two weeks of uncertainty surrounding his abduction.
Police said Kairav Gandhi returned to his residence in Jamshedpur at around 4:30 am on Tuesday, hours after he was traced and freed. He was reportedly abducted on January 13, triggering an intensive search operation across multiple districts in Jharkhand and neighbouring Bihar.
According to officials familiar with the operation, Gandhi was recovered from an area located between Hazaribagh in Jharkhand and Gaya in Bihar. The rescue was carried out after security agencies tracked movements linked to the kidnappers and narrowed down the possible locations where the victim was being held.

The kidnapping had sparked concern within business and civic circles in Jamshedpur, with demands for swift action and enhanced security. Police said several leads are being pursued and raids are continuing to identify and arrest those involved in the crime.
Officials reiterated that the investigation remains active and assured that strict action will be taken against all accused. Further details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses.
