A 32-year-old Youth Congress leader was killed after four unidentified assailants allegedly barged into his residence in Dharwad and attacked him with sharp weapons, in a violent incident that has triggered shock and a police investigation in the region.
The deceased has been identified as Fairoz Pathan, a local Youth Congress leader. According to police officials, the incident took place late Friday night when the attackers forcibly entered his house and launched a sudden assault, leaving him critically injured. He reportedly succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Preliminary reports suggest that the assailants arrived in a group of four and targeted the victim inside his home, creating panic in the neighbourhood. Police said the attackers fled immediately after the incident, and initial evidence indicates a coordinated and swift attack, though the exact motive remains unclear at this stage.
