A 58-year-old man in Jaipur was allegedly murdered by four men accused of sexually assaulting his daughter after he refused to withdraw the case filed against them. The man’s body was found hanging in an open area near his house on July 5, 2026. Police initially registered the case as a suspected suicide and began investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. However, following a complaint by his wife, authorities have now registered a murder case and are investigating allegations that the death was part of a conspiracy.
According to the complaint filed by the man’s wife, their daughter was allegedly abducted in June and sexually assaulted by one man with the assistance of three accomplices. The girl reportedly returned home two days later, after which her statement was recorded and a case was registered against the four accused. Police subsequently arrested the suspects in connection with the alleged sexual assault. The family has maintained that the legal proceedings led to repeated threats from the accused.
The victim’s relatives alleged that the accused had pressured the family to withdraw the complaint and threatened to kill the girl’s father if he refused. His wife has claimed that the four men conspired to murder him and attempted to make the death appear to be a suicide. These allegations are now part of the investigation, and police are examining the circumstances of the death to establish whether the man was killed or died by suicide. The allegations against the four men have not yet been established in court.

Circle Inspector Dilip Singh said a police team reached the location on July 5 after receiving information that the man’s body had been found. Officers collected evidence at the scene, and the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination the following day. The initial investigation proceeded on the basis of a suspected suicide, but the complaint submitted by the victim’s wife prompted authorities to register a murder case. Police are now reviewing the available evidence and the family’s allegations.
The case has raised serious concerns about the safety of families pursuing criminal complaints, particularly when they report threats from people accused of serious offences. The relatives have alleged that the threats continued after the sexual assault case was registered. Investigators will need to examine whether those threats were documented, whether there were earlier complaints to authorities and whether the evidence supports the allegation of a planned killing.
Police are continuing their investigation into the man’s death and the alleged connection with the sexual assault case involving his daughter. Authorities have not publicly disclosed further findings establishing the circumstances of the death or the individual responsibility of the suspects. The murder case will depend on the evidence gathered during the investigation, including forensic findings, witness statements and other relevant material.
