Top Iranian leaders, including President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, made a rare public appearance during celebrations marking Islamic Republic Day, sending a strong message on unity and the possible end to the ongoing conflict.
The leaders were seen moving through large crowds in Tehran, interacting directly with citizens, shaking hands, and even stopping for selfies. Notably, the appearance came despite heightened security threats and ongoing concerns over targeted assassinations of senior Iranian officials.
Speaking during the public gathering, Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran possesses the “necessary will” to bring the war to an end, signaling a potential opening for de-escalation. Abbas Araghchi echoed similar sentiments, saying he joined the rally to connect with people and “draw energy” from public unity and support.

This marks one of the first such appearances since tensions escalated sharply in the region. The last time both leaders were seen publicly in a similar setting was during Iranian Quds Day, alongside senior security figure Ali Larijani, who was later reported killed in joint US-Israeli strikes.
Since the conflict intensified, Israel has reportedly carried out a series of targeted operations aimed at key Iranian figures, including threats against Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The latest public appearance by Iran’s top leadership, therefore, carries both symbolic and strategic importance.
The visuals from Tehran, widely circulated on social media, highlighted a show of resilience and public solidarity. Analysts believe the move is aimed at reinforcing internal confidence while also signaling to the international community that diplomatic pathways to end the conflict may still be open.
