India and the United Kingdom have reinforced their strategic cooperation as National Security Advisors (NSAs) from both countries discussed a long-term “2035 roadmap” focusing on emerging technologies, counter-terrorism, and defence collaboration. The high-level talks come amid efforts to deepen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between New Delhi and London.
According to officials, the discussions centred on expanding cooperation in critical areas such as artificial intelligence, cyber security, defence innovation, and advanced military systems. Both sides reviewed progress under the India–UK Technology Security Initiative, which is designed to secure sensitive technologies while promoting joint development in future-facing sectors.
Counter-terrorism and security coordination also featured prominently in the dialogue, with both NSAs agreeing to strengthen intelligence sharing and joint mechanisms to address cross-border terror threats, extremist networks, and illicit financial flows. The two countries also reiterated their commitment to tackling emerging challenges such as cyber-enabled crime and the misuse of new technologies by hostile actors.

The engagement is part of the broader India–UK Vision 2035 framework, which outlines a decade-long roadmap for cooperation in defence, technology, climate action, and economic growth. Under this plan, both nations aim to shift from a traditional buyer-seller defence relationship toward co-development and co-production of advanced systems.
Officials noted that implementation of the roadmap will be monitored through structured NSA-led mechanisms and periodic reviews. The initiative reflects growing convergence between India and the UK on global security challenges, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region and the evolving digital threat landscape.
