A shocking tragedy unfolded in Kushinagar when a 16-year-old girl, who had left home to attend Independence Day celebrations at her college, was found murdered with wounds inflicted by a sharp weapon. The victim, a class 10 student of Janta Inter College, had left her home at approximately 7:30 AM on August 15 to participate in the flag hoisting ceremony but failed to return by evening, prompting her family to initiate a frantic search. Her lifeless body was later discovered by villagers under a culvert near Morvan village on Saturday evening, leading to a wave of grief and outrage across the local community.
The police have confirmed that the girl’s body bore clear marks of violence caused by a sharp object, suggesting a brutal attack. The family promptly identified the body and lodged a formal complaint with the Ramkola police station. The local authorities have registered a case of murder and have launched a thorough investigation to piece together the events leading up to the incident. According to Station House Officer Raj Prakash Singh, based on the family’s allegations, a 26-year-old man has been apprehended for questioning in connection with the murder.
