On July 13, 2025, chaos unfolded at the Medipally office of suspended Congress MLC Teenmaar Mallanna in Hyderabad when alleged Telangana Jagruthi activists, led by BRS MLC K Kavitha, stormed the premises. The group, enraged by Mallanna’s remarks about Kavitha, reportedly vandalized furniture and assaulted staff, prompting Mallanna’s gunman to fire shots into the air to disperse the mob, police said.
Mallanna, born Chintapandu Naveen Kumar, was present during the attack. He alleged the incident was an attempt on his life, instigated by Kavitha, claiming protesters tried to seize his gunman’s weapon to shoot him. Mallanna filed a police complaint with evidence and demanded Kavitha’s Legislative Council membership be revoked for allegedly inciting violence. He vowed to continue advocating for backward classes undeterred.
Kavitha, in response, met Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, submitting a memorandum accusing Mallanna of “inappropriate and defamatory” remarks made during a Sangareddy meeting. She urged an Ethics Committee probe and questioned the justification of firing at protesters, asserting the demonstration was meant to be democratic. Kavitha demanded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy arrest Mallanna, warning that inaction would signal support for his statements. She also plans to approach the Telangana State Women’s Commission and National Commission for Women.
