In a major breakthrough, Chhattisgarh police nabbed four Naxalites in Sukma district on Friday for allegedly planting a deadly improvised explosive device (IED) near Bedre security camp on June 29.
The suspects, identified as Tamu Joga (25), Punem Budhra (24), Madkam Bhima (23), and Midiam Aaytu (24), were apprehended near Bodanguda village by a joint team of the CRPF’s 165th battalion and local police. A tiffin bomb was seized from their possession, police revealed.
The quartet, part of the Jagargunda area committee of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist), faces charges for targeting security personnel with the IED and other Naxal-related crimes under Jagargunda police station.
The arrests mark a significant blow to Maoist operations in the region, as authorities intensify efforts to curb insurgency in Chhattisgarh’s volatile districts.
