In a tragic incident in Ferozepur, Punjab, the bodies of a family of four were found with gunshot wounds on Thursday, police said. The deceased have been identified as Amandeep Singh Sodhi, his wife Jasvir Kaur, and their children, Manvir (10) and Preneet Kaur (6). The family was discovered by their maid, who alerted neighbours after being unable to enter the house.
Neighbours reported that the maid rang the doorbell and called Amandeep multiple times without a response. On breaking into the locked house near Dera Baba Ram Lal, they found the family lying in a pool of blood and immediately informed the authorities. Amandeep Singh Sodhi worked at a local salon, according to reports.
Ferozepur SSP Bhupinder Singh confirmed that a pistol was recovered near the bodies, and investigators are examining whether the family fired the shots themselves or if foul play was involved. A forensics team has been called in, and CCTV footage from the premises is under review.

Neighbours described the family as happy and normal, expressing shock at the incident. One neighbour said, “On Wednesday evening, the wife and children went for a walk with us. It was a very happy family, but we don’t understand what happened overnight.”
The bodies have been sent to the Ferozepur Civil Hospital for autopsy, while police continue a detailed investigation. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the family or the events leading up to the tragedy to come forward.
