A 17-year-old student succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday after being allegedly assaulted by a group of teenagers in Delhi’s Trilokpuri area, police confirmed. The incident, which occurred on the evening of January 5, has led to the registration of a murder case at Mayur Vihar Police Station. Authorities have apprehended six juveniles in connection with the case.
Police said they received information from Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital about an unconscious boy brought in after a physical assault. The victim, identified as Mohit, a Class 11 student and resident of Indra Camp, Trilokpuri, was later referred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital due to the seriousness of his condition. Doctors declared him unfit to record a statement at that time.

On the day of the incident, a verbal argument reportedly broke out between Mohit and a group of minors while he was with his friends. The altercation soon escalated, leading to a group assault, during which another youth who tried to intervene was also attacked.
