An employee of a businessman was allegedly robbed of Rs 20 lakh at gunpoint by two armed men riding a scooter in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area, police said on Thursday. The incident took place on Wednesday evening near Hari Nagar Ghanta Ghar, when the employee, identified as Satender, was carrying the cash in a bag to make a payment. The assailants allegedly targeted him while he was travelling in an autorickshaw and fled with the money after threatening him with a pistol. According to police, Satender was travelling in the autorickshaw with Rs 20 lakh in cash when the vehicle stopped near CD Block.

The two suspects, who were riding a scooter, allegedly approached the autorickshaw after it came to a halt. The circumstances of the stop and the exact reason for the vehicle being stationary were not immediately clear from the initial police account. Satender was carrying the cash in a bag at the time, making him the target of the alleged robbery. Police said the pillion rider got close to the autorickshaw and allegedly pointed a pistol at Satender's head. The armed suspect then allegedly snatched the bag containing the Rs 20 lakh in cash.

The threat with the firearm reportedly left Satender with little opportunity to resist or prevent the robbery. The second suspect remained on the scooter during the incident, according to the preliminary account provided by police. After taking the cash, the two men allegedly fled the area on their scooter. Police said the robbers escaped before Satender or the autorickshaw driver could react. The sudden nature of the incident and the alleged use of a firearm enabled the suspects to leave the spot quickly after taking the bag.
