A 15-year-old student, Rishi Ahirwar, was fatally stabbed outside Ojaswini School near Malaiya Mill on Friday, shortly after completing his Class 10 final examination. Police say he was attacked by a group of more than half a dozen classmates, all minors.
According to investigators, the attack stemmed from a dispute that began earlier in the school. Rishi had allegedly refused to share answers during exams, which led to confrontations on February 27 and March 2. The accused students reportedly threatened to "teach him a lesson" on the day of the exam.
As Rishi walked out of the school premises, the group ambushed him at the campus gate. He was stabbed repeatedly and rushed to the district hospital in critical condition. Doctors said he had already lost a dangerous amount of blood and was suffering from severe anemia, which contributed to the fatal outcome.

“The cut had severed a vein, and there was excessive bleeding. We were preparing to arrange a unit of blood, but his condition deteriorated rapidly and he died,” said Dr. Bahadur Patel, on duty at the ICU.
The incident triggered chaos at the hospital, with grieving relatives and local residents gathering in large numbers.
Police have detained several minors in connection with the murder. Eight students have been identified and booked in the case. Damoh SP Shrutkirti Somvanshi described the incident as deeply disturbing and warned of a worrying trend among teenagers idolizing criminal behavior.
Rishi, a resident of Imlai village, had traveled to Damoh for his exams, which his family hoped would pave the way for a better future. Instead, his final school examination ended in tragedy, raising concerns about increasing aggression and violence among students.
