In a chilling incident in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, a newly married man, K Ganesh, was brutally murdered by his brother-in-law, Durga Rao, just 13 days after his wedding. The motive? Rao’s fierce opposition to Ganesh’s marriage to Keerthi Veeranjaneya Devi, his sister, which he had vehemently disapproved of from the start.
According to police reports, Ganesh and Keerthi tied the knot in a ceremony that defied Rao’s wishes, igniting tensions. Rao, who allegedly has a history of criminal activities, including several pending cases, took matters into his own hands. On the fateful day, as Ganesh was traveling from his hometown to Guntur, Rao and two accomplices trailed him. In a sudden and violent attack, they stabbed Ganesh multiple times, leaving him with severe injuries.
Passersby rushed Ganesh to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts to save him, doctors pronounced him dead on arrival due to excessive blood loss from multiple stab wounds. The brutality of the attack has left the local community in shock, with many expressing grief over the tragic end to what should have been a joyous new chapter for the couple.

A senior police official confirmed to PTI, “The murder was a direct result of Rao’s opposition to the marriage. We are treating this as a premeditated crime.” Authorities have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to murder, and are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the crime. Rao and his associates are currently on the run, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend them.
This horrifying incident has sparked discussions about familial disputes and their devastating consequences, with locals urging for justice. The investigation continues as police gather evidence to ensure the culprits face the full force of the law.
