Panic ensued across multiple states on Wednesday as bomb threat emails targeted courts and schools, prompting emergency evacuations, anti-sabotage checks, and heightened security measures. While no explosives were found in most locations, the incidents disrupted normal operations for hours and caused widespread anxiety. Cyber teams have launched investigations to trace the source of the emails.
In Delhi, the Dwarka Court Complex was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat around 9:30 AM. Bomb disposal squads, police teams, and sniffer dogs conducted extensive searches of courtrooms, corridors, and surrounding areas. Officials later declared the threat a hoax, but proceedings were delayed for several hours, inconveniencing litigants, lawyers, and staff.
Chhattisgarh saw similar threats across Jagdalpur, Rajnandgaon, and Ambikapur district courts. Judges, staff, and advocates were evacuated, and bomb squads conducted thorough inspections of the premises. Cyber units are examining the emails to trace the senders. Police noted that repeated hoax threats in recent weeks have heightened fear among court visitors.

In Chandigarh, 26 schools received bomb threat emails, triggering evacuations, searches by police, fire brigades, and bomb disposal units. Authorities confirmed that no explosives were found and suspect a hoax. Parents were urged to remain calm and report any suspicious emails to the police, while schools were advised against declaring holidays without verification.
Gurugram schools faced similar threats, with authorities conducting detailed checks of classrooms, buses, and surrounding areas. Officials suspect the emails are part of a coordinated hoax, but investigations remain ongoing to determine the source and prevent further incidents.
Security experts emphasized that fake bomb threats are serious offences under law, punishable with strict penalties. Police and cyber teams continue their efforts to identify the perpetrators while advising institutions to maintain vigilance and report threats promptly.
