In a shocking incident in Bihar’s Purnea district, two children were killed and a one-and-a-half-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after being attacked by a young man in Dingoz village. The children were asleep when the accused allegedly struck them with an iron rod, according to local police.

The victims have been identified as five-year-old Inayat and three-year-old Gulnaz, while the injured toddler, Kulsoom, is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. Police said the accused, Mohammad Arbaaz, entered the house on Tuesday night following a family dispute and carried out the brutal attack.

Rauta police station in-charge Kunal Saurav said the violence stemmed from a longstanding altercation between the two families. “Earlier on Tuesday evening, a fight had occurred, which reportedly angered Arbaaz further. When the father tried to intervene, the accused’s fury escalated,” he stated.

Police have arrested Mohammad Arbaaz along with an accomplice and are conducting thorough interrogations. During questioning, Arbaaz reportedly confessed to the attack. An FIR has been registered under sections related to murder, attempt to murder, and criminal conspiracy.

The iron rod used in the attack was recovered by authorities, and the bodies of the deceased were sent for post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital. Police have deployed additional forces in the village to prevent further escalation, while investigations are ongoing.

The community remains shaken by the violence, and authorities have urged residents to maintain calm as the investigation progresses. Officials emphasized that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators to ensure justice for the victims.
