A five-year-old boy was killed at a residential school hostel in Bihar’s Jehanabad district earlier this week, in a case that has shocked the region. Police have arrested a hostel guard after he allegedly confessed to the crime, officials said.
According to police, the accused guard, identified as Mukesh alias Sudama (46), was working at the school canteen. He was taken into custody after investigation led authorities to him, and a weapon believed to have been used in the crime has been recovered.
Superintendent of Police Aprajit Lohan said preliminary findings suggest the accused had personal and workplace grievances, including disputes at the hostel. Police are also examining whether any negligence occurred within the hostel administration, as the establishment’s operator has also been detained for questioning.
