A 19-year-old barber in Mumbai’s eastern suburb of Vikhroli has been arrested for allegedly attacking a teenager with scissors during a violent confrontation, police said on Friday.
The accused, identified as Afroz Farooq Ali Sheikh, runs a barber shop in Suryanagar. According to investigators, the incident unfolded after Sheikh allegedly assaulted the cousin of 19-year-old Irfan Qureshi. When Qureshi went to question him about the earlier assault, an argument erupted.
In a fit of rage, Sheikh reportedly grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed Qureshi in the neck, leaving him critically injured. Shocked locals rushed to Qureshi’s aid and overpowered Sheikh before handing him over to the police.

Qureshi is currently battling for his life in a hospital, while Sheikh faces a charge of attempt to murder, police confirmed.
