YSRCP Lok Sabha member PV Midhun Reddy was remanded to judicial custody until August 1 in a ₹3,500 crore liquor scam case in Andhra Pradesh. The Vijayawada ACB court ordered the custody on Sunday, a police official confirmed.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing liquor policy irregularities under the former YSRCP regime, arrested Reddy on Saturday evening after extensive questioning in Vijayawada. A medical examination at a government hospital found no health issues, clearing the way for his court appearance.
YSRCP leaders decried the arrest as an attack on opposition voices, pledging to resist the TDP-led NDA government’s actions. Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called it a “political conspiracy to silence those supporting the people” in an X post.
