In a deeply distressing incident from Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, a 35-year-old man named P Kamaraju allegedly poisoned his two minor sons before taking his own life by suicide early on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. The tragedy, which occurred in the village of Chilakalapadu, has left the local community reeling in shock. Superintendent of Police Rahul Meena confirmed the deaths to PTI, noting that preliminary investigations point to external pressures as a contributing factor to this heartbreaking event.
According to police reports, Kamaraju administered poison to his young sons around 3 am, following which he hanged himself. The bodies were discovered shortly thereafter, prompting an immediate response from authorities. Meena revealed that Kamaraju had been enduring harassment from a few individuals, a situation that may have exacerbated his mental state. Tragically, this is not the first loss in the family; Kamaraju's wife had died by suicide six years prior due to a domestic dispute, adding layers of sorrow to an already burdened household.
The SP emphasized that while initial information suggests harassment as a key element, the exact motivations behind Kamaraju's actions remain under scrutiny. "We have preliminary information that the person was being harassed by a few persons," Meena stated, underscoring the need for a thorough probe into the circumstances. The incident highlights the profound impact of ongoing stress and unresolved grief on vulnerable individuals, raising urgent questions about community support systems in rural areas.

The case serves as a somber reminder of the silent struggles faced by many, urging collective action to foster empathy and intervention.
