A crime branch team of the Gurugram police apprehended Harsh, a wanted criminal from Khera Khurrampur village, carrying a Rs 20,000 bounty, for the murder of 32-year-old Rohit on February 24.
The arrest, made near the KMP flyover on Farrukhnagar Road, marks a significant breakthrough in a case that has gripped the region due to its violent nature and underlying motives. The incident unfolded when police received a tip about a shooting outside ARAMEX India Private Limited near WCTM College in Farrukhnagar.
Rohit, also from Khera Khurrampur, was found grievously injured and later pronounced dead at ERV hospital from a bullet wound. Investigations revealed a chilling tale of betrayal and vengeance.
Harsh, along with accomplices, allegedly shot Rohit eight times, a killing spurred by a grudge. Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar disclosed that Rohit, once a companion of Harsh in supplying water and tea, had thwarted a murder plot Harsh had confided in him about, warning the intended target. This act of disloyalty led to his execution.
The crime scene was meticulously examined by specialized police units, including the scene-of-crime team and dog squad. Rohit’s father accused Harsh of issuing death threats prior to the murder, prompting a case under relevant sections at Farrukhnagar police station.
Harsh’s arrest followed a month-long manhunt, intensified by the reward announcement. During interrogation, Harsh’s criminal intent was laid bare, though his accomplices remain at large.
Interestingly, Rohit himself was no stranger to crime, with nine cases—ranging from attempted murder to illegal recovery—registered against him. Harsh has been remanded to four days of police custody for further questioning and evidence recovery.
As the investigation deepens, Gurugram police aim to unravel the full network behind this deadly fallout, spotlighting the volatile undercurrents of local rivalries.
