US President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns about the prolonged deployment of the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, which has been operating at sea for nine months amid heightened tensions between the United States and Iran. Trump said the carrier would soon be replaced by another aircraft carrier, but rejected suggestions that the extended deployment had placed excessive strain on service members.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump was asked whether families of personnel aboard the Abraham Lincoln were concerned about the situation and the conditions faced by those serving on the vessel. He responded that they were not worried.
