Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced a ₹70,000-crore investment by the Tata Group, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and HyperVault to establish what the State government described as India’s largest artificial intelligence data centre in Future City. The project is expected to create around 7,000 direct jobs and significantly expand Telangana’s digital infrastructure. The investment was announced in the presence of senior State government officials and representatives of the companies involved.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said the proposed facility would be developed as a major AI-focused data centre and become a key part of Telangana’s plans to build Future City as a technology and innovation hub. The project is expected to strengthen the State’s capacity to support artificial intelligence, cloud computing and other data-intensive technologies. The scale of the proposed investment makes the facility one of the largest technology infrastructure projects announced for Telangana.
Revanth Reddy has also set a firm deadline for completing the project, saying the AI data centre should be inaugurated on June 2, 2028, which marks Telangana Formation Day. He said the government wanted the project to move from groundbreaking to inauguration within 21 months. The deadline reflects the State government’s emphasis on fast-tracking major infrastructure projects and positioning Hyderabad as a leading destination for emerging technology investments.

The announcement was made alongside senior representatives of the Tata Group, TCS and HyperVault. TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K. Krithivasan, TCS HyperVault president and HyperVault CEO Deepesh Nanda, along with other company and government officials, were present during the announcement. Ministers Sridhar Babu, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, as well as Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju, were also associated with the event.
The proposed investment is expected to have wider implications for Telangana’s technology ecosystem through the creation of direct employment and demand for supporting infrastructure and services. Large-scale data centres require significant digital, power and physical infrastructure, while AI-focused facilities can support the growing computational requirements of businesses and technology companies. The project could therefore contribute to Telangana’s broader efforts to attract investment in advanced digital technologies.
The proposed AI data centre is also aligned with the State government’s broader plans for Future City, which is being developed as a major urban and economic growth centre near Hyderabad. By attracting large investments in emerging technologies, Telangana aims to strengthen Hyderabad’s position in India’s technology sector. The ₹70,000-crore project, if completed according to the announced timeline, would mark a major addition to the country’s data-centre infrastructure and reinforce the State’s ambitions in artificial intelligence and digital services.
