Tata Consultancy Services (Tata Consultancy Services) has suspended six of its employees after they were arrested in connection with serious sexual harassment and related criminal allegations in Maharashtra’s Nashik district, according to official statements and media reports.
The action comes after Nashik police detained six employees of the company following multiple complaints filed by women employees alleging sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, and other offences, including charges related to coercion and offensive conduct. Authorities said the arrests were made after a detailed investigation into a series of complaints registered over a period of time.
Following the arrests, TCS confirmed that the accused employees have been placed under suspension pending further inquiry. The company stated that it has a strict zero-tolerance policy toward harassment and coercion of any kind and reiterated its commitment to maintaining workplace safety and employee well-being. It also said it is fully cooperating with law enforcement agencies as the investigation continues.

According to police reports, the case originated from a complaint filed at the Deolali police station, which alleged serious misconduct by a senior employee. Subsequently, additional complaints were registered by other employees, leading to multiple FIRs and widening the scope of the investigation. Officials indicated that the allegations span issues of harassment and workplace misconduct, prompting deeper scrutiny into internal workplace practices.
The investigation has also drawn attention to the role of internal grievance mechanisms and the handling of complaints within the organisation. Authorities are examining whether appropriate action was taken at earlier stages when complaints were first raised, as part of a broader inquiry into institutional accountability.
The case has triggered significant public and corporate attention, with Maharashtra’s law enforcement agencies continuing their probe. Further action against the accused employees will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
