Rolls-Royce, the renowned British engineering firm specialising in luxury automobiles, aerospace, and power systems, officially launched its largest Global Capability and Innovation Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The state-of-the-art facility, inaugurated by Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil, aims to drive innovation in advanced engineering and support the company's worldwide operations. This expansion underscores Bengaluru's emergence as a premier destination for global tech and manufacturing investments.
In his address at the inauguration, Patil highlighted how the Bengaluru team will now fuel Rolls-Royce's global businesses, reinforcing Karnataka's leadership in aerospace, defence, and advanced engineering sectors. "Bengaluru ranks among the world’s top three aerospace cities for attracting foreign investments," Patil stated, noting the state's comprehensive ecosystem spanning the entire value chain.
He cited key players like Aequs and Collins Aerospace in power systems and propulsion, Wipro and Mahindra Aerospace in structural components, Boeing, Airbus, and Pixxel in specialised technologies, and Sarla and Tata Advanced Systems in end-manufacturing.
Patil emphasised the Karnataka Aerospace and Defence Policy's incentive package, which fosters collaboration among research institutions, multinational corporations, and startups. This integrated environment, he said, delivers cutting-edge solutions globally, supported by proactive policies, infrastructure enhancements, and business-friendly reforms. "Our government is committed to being a trusted partner in building technologies of global relevance," Patil affirmed.
