Punjab National Bank (PNB) has invited applications for the recruitment of 5,138 apprentice posts across India. The online application process will begin on February 8, 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official PNB website or the BFSI SSC portal. The last date to submit applications is February 24, 2026. This recruitment drive aims to provide practical banking experience to young graduates.
Selected candidates will undergo a 12-month training program. This includes two weeks of basic training followed by 50 weeks of on-the-job training at PNB branches. The apprenticeship is designed to build hands-on banking skills. Candidates will be assessed at the end of the training period. Passing the final assessment is mandatory to receive the apprentice certificate.
Applicants must be between 20 and 28 years of age as of January 1, 2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms. SC and ST candidates will get a relaxation of five years, while OBC candidates will get three years. Persons with benchmark disabilities will receive up to 10 years of relaxation. Widows and divorced women are also eligible for additional age relaxation.

During the training period, apprentices will receive a monthly stipend. Those posted in rural, semi-urban, and urban branches will get Rs 12,300 per month. Candidates posted in metro branches will receive Rs 15,000 per month. No additional allowances will be provided during the apprenticeship. The stipend will be paid for the full 12-month duration.
The tentative examination date for the recruitment process is the first week of March 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official websites for updates.
