In a strategic move to bolster Maharashtra’s maritime and green energy sectors, Minister for Ports, Fisheries, and Port Development Nitesh Rane embarked on an official visit to Sweden ahead of the highly anticipated India Maritime Week, set to take place in Mumbai during the last week of October. The visit focused on fostering international partnerships, attracting investments, and generating employment opportunities through collaborations in cutting-edge maritime and green technology.
During his trip, Minister Rane engaged in high-level discussions with executives from leading Swedish companies, including Echandia, a pioneer in maritime battery manufacturing, and Einride, a global leader in supply chain and autonomous transport technology. These meetings centered on establishing advanced manufacturing units and research facilities in Maharashtra, aligning with the state’s vision to become a hub for innovative industries.
Rane extended invitations to both companies to set up operations in Maharashtra, assuring them of comprehensive support under the state government’s ‘Make in Maharashtra’ and ‘Green Industries’ policies. These initiatives aim to create a conducive environment for foreign direct investment and sustainable development, positioning Maharashtra as a key player in the global maritime and green energy landscape.
