Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a sudden explosion triggered by a pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Thursday morning. The attack occurred around 10:30 AM near Saatdhaar bridge on the Indravati river, as a team from the CRPF’s 195th battalion conducted an area domination operation from their camp in the Malewahi police station area.
The injured, identified as Inspector Diwan Singh Gurjar and Constable Alam Munesh, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were promptly evacuated and are being transported to an advanced medical facility for treatment, according to a police official. The CRPF team was cordoning off the area when the hidden IED detonated, underscoring the persistent threat posed by Naxalite insurgents in the region.

These devices, often concealed in dirt paths, have also claimed civilian lives in the past, making them a deadly menace in the conflict-ridden area.
