Mahindra & Mahindra has secured its largest-ever export order after signing an agreement to supply 35,000 units of its Scorpio Pik Up light commercial vehicles to Indonesia in 2026. The single contract surpasses the company’s total export volume recorded in the entire FY25, marking a major milestone for Mahindra’s international operations. The deal strengthens the automaker’s footprint in Southeast Asia and highlights growing global demand for its rugged utility vehicles.
The vehicles will be delivered to Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise, as part of the government-backed Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) programme. The initiative focuses on strengthening rural cooperatives, improving food distribution networks, and enhancing village-level economic activity across the country. Mahindra’s vehicles are expected to play a key role in improving logistics efficiency in Indonesia’s vast rural landscape.
Manufactured at Mahindra’s Nashik plant in Maharashtra, the Scorpio Pik Ups will feature a single-cab configuration tailored for heavy-duty rural usage. These vehicles are designed to operate on rough terrain, farm tracks, and under demanding load conditions. Their primary role will be transporting fresh produce from farms to cooperatives and onward to regional markets, helping reduce wastage and transit delays.

Mahindra and Agrinas Pangan Nusantara will also work closely to integrate the vehicles into cooperative-led transport systems. The collaboration aims to shorten supply chains, improve farmer access to markets, and create a more reliable logistics backbone. By deploying cost-efficient and durable vehicles, the partnership seeks to support Indonesia’s long-term food security and rural development goals.
Commenting on the agreement, Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, said the partnership aligns with the company’s global expansion strategy and its “Rise” philosophy. He noted that the volume committed under this deal alone matches Mahindra’s total export performance in FY25. The agreement underlines Mahindra’s growing credibility in emerging markets and reinforces its position as a key player in global light commercial vehicle exports.
