Fortis Healthcare is set to invest over Rs 900 crore to expand its existing hospital campus in Mohali, Punjab, as announced by Punjab Industry Minister Sanjeev Arora on Friday. This significant investment aims to establish a world-class centre of excellence, enhancing Punjab’s reputation as a hub for advanced healthcare and medical tourism.
The expansion will increase the hospital’s capacity by more than 400 beds, bringing the total to over 775 beds, including 194 ICU beds across 40 specialities. Spanning 13.4 acres, the integrated healthcare campus will strengthen Fortis Mohali’s leadership in cardiac sciences, oncology, organ transplants, robotic surgery, and critical care.
The project is expected to generate over 2,500 direct jobs and 2,200 indirect jobs, contributing significantly to the region’s economy. Arora highlighted the state government’s commitment to fostering public-private partnerships to build a robust healthcare ecosystem in Punjab.

Fortis Healthcare has already invested over Rs 1,500 crore in Punjab, establishing a network of world-class hospitals. Arora praised the healthcare giant’s continued commitment, noting that this expansion underscores Punjab’s emergence as a centre of medical excellence.
