The Delhi High Court on Friday granted an application by Priya Kapur to amend a prior order in a legal battle over her late husband Sanjay Kapur’s will, removing his sister Mandhira Kapur’s name from the proceedings. Justice Jyoti Singh approved the request in a case involving Sanjay’s two children with his former wife, actor Karisma Kapoor, who are challenging the validity of his purported will and seeking a share of his estate, estimated at Rs 30,000 crore.
The application, filed on behalf of Priya and her minor son, argued that the September 10 order incorrectly listed Mandhira’s counsel as part of the proceedings, despite her not being a party to the case. Senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Priya, described Mandhira’s inclusion as an attempt to gain unauthorized entry into the dispute. The court’s earlier order had directed Priya to disclose all of Sanjay’s movable and immovable assets as of June 12, 2025, the date of his death.
Sanjay Kapur, a prominent businessman, died unexpectedly on June 12, 2025, during a polo match in London, reportedly due to a heart attack triggered by swallowing a bee. His mother, Rani Kapur, has since called for a UK investigation, alleging foul play and possible financial fraud, dismissing natural causes.

The case, tied to a high-profile family, has drawn attention due to the vast estate and the involvement of Karisma Kapoor, who was married to Sanjay from 2003 until their divorce in 2016. The court’s ruling marks a step forward in resolving the contentious dispute over Sanjay’s legacy.
