The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled a series of welfare promises in its “Viksit Keralam” manifesto ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections. The party pledged a monthly food support of ₹2,500 for poor families, universal coverage under the Ayushman Bharat health scheme, and the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) campus in Kerala. The manifesto was released on Tuesday, highlighting the party’s focus on social welfare and healthcare expansion.
In addition to food and healthcare initiatives, the BJP announced provisions for two free LPG cylinders annually for economically disadvantaged households, timed with Onam and Christmas festivals. The party also promised to increase pensions to ₹3,000, aiming to strengthen financial security for senior citizens and vulnerable populations across the state.
The manifesto further emphasises infrastructure development, including plans for a high-speed corridor designed to improve connectivity and promote economic growth. Party leaders stressed that these measures would enhance both the quality of life and accessibility of essential services for Kerala residents.
