Akasa Air, celebrating its third anniversary since launching operations on August 7, 2022, has announced ambitious plans to expand its footprint into the SAARC and ASEAN regions over the next few years. The airline aims to leverage the upcoming Navi Mumbai and Noida International Airports to develop a robust network while strengthening its presence in key markets like Delhi.
Currently operating a fleet of 30 aircraft, Akasa Air anticipates growing its fleet to over 30 planes by the end of 2025, targeting a capacity increase of more than 30% in Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs) for the fiscal year ending March 2026. The airline has already made significant strides, serving over 19 million passengers in just 36 months, with 8 million of those in the last 12 months alone, while maintaining industry-leading load factors above 87%.
Akasa Air currently connects 23 domestic cities and five international destinations: Doha (Qatar), Jeddah, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Kuwait City (Kuwait). The planned expansion into the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries—Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and India—and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries—Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Cambodia—marks a significant step toward global outreach.

Founder and CEO Vinay Dube emphasized the airline’s long-term vision, stating, “We remain firmly anchored to our goal of being among the top 30 airlines globally by the end of this decade.” With strategic expansions and a customer-centric approach, Akasa Air is poised to redefine regional air travel.
