Aiza Usman, an applied AI engineer at Anthropic, has gained attention online after sharing her journey from Lahore to working in the United States’ rapidly growing artificial intelligence industry. Speaking during a conversation with content creator Hamzaa Chishti, she explained how her educational background, industry experience, and willingness to adapt helped her secure a role at one of the world’s leading AI firms. Her comments have resonated widely as debates around artificial intelligence and job security continue to intensify globally.
Usman said she moved to the United States to pursue undergraduate studies and built a strong technical foundation through her computer science engineering education. According to her, graduate-level coursework further strengthened her expertise, particularly in areas such as generative artificial intelligence, large language models, and transformer architectures. She added that practical industry exposure also played an important role in her career development, including her work with a fintech startup where she developed AI agents and worked on applied AI solutions before joining Anthropic.
Discussing her experience at Anthropic, Usman highlighted the company’s focus on responsible AI development and safety-orientated research. She noted that both Anthropic and OpenAI place strong emphasis on ensuring artificial intelligence systems are developed in ways that remain aligned with human well-being and safety. According to her, the company is not only focused on accelerating AI capabilities but also on ensuring that rapid technological advancements are introduced responsibly, with safeguards that minimise potential risks associated with powerful AI systems.

Usman also addressed growing fears surrounding automation and job displacement, encouraging professionals and students to view AI as a tool rather than a threat. She argued that people across industries should focus on learning how to work alongside emerging technologies instead of resisting them. “Everyone needs to stop being scared of AI,” she said during the discussion, adding that artificial intelligence is no longer limited to technical professions and is increasingly becoming part of everyday work across multiple sectors.
The remarks come at a time when artificial intelligence has become one of the most widely discussed topics in the global technology industry. Businesses, policymakers, and workers are closely monitoring how AI tools are transforming sectors including writing, design, software development, law, healthcare, and finance. While many organisations see opportunities for increased productivity and efficiency, concerns about long-term employment security and workforce disruption continue to grow among professionals adapting to rapidly changing technologies.
Anthropic is currently regarded as one of the leading companies shaping the future of artificial intelligence alongside other major global AI developers. Industry experts believe demand for professionals with expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and AI safety will continue to rise as companies expand investments in the sector. Usman’s story has therefore attracted attention not only as a personal success journey, but also as an example of how adaptability and continuous learning are increasingly becoming essential skills in the evolving technology landscape.
