New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the 120th episode of his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday where he revealed that the theme for Yoga Day 2025 as 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', symbolising a commitment to global well-being through yoga.
He emphasised the importance of fitness and lauded initiatives like the Fit India Carnival and International Yoga Day for inspiring not only Indians but people worldwide. “Count of the number of steps taken in a day, count of the number of calories eaten in a day, count of the number of calories burnt… amidst all these counts, another countdown is about to begin. The countdown to International Yoga Day,” he remarked, reminding citizens that less than 100 days remain before Yoga Day. Urging people to incorporate yoga into their lives, he noted, “If you have not yet included yoga in your life, do it now… it is not too late yet.”
Recalling the first International Yoga Day on June 21, 2015, PM Modi described it as a “grand festival of yoga” that continues to grow in significance. Announcing the theme for Yoga Day 2025 as 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', he stressed the theme’s focus on global well-being through yoga.
Highlighting yoga and Ayurveda’s rising global acceptance, the Prime Minister cited the example of Chile, where Ayurveda is gaining popularity. He praised the efforts of the Somos India team, which has been promoting yoga and Ayurveda in Chile for nearly a decade, with educational programs and translated materials. Last year, the team hosted events attended by around 9,000 people.
Concluding his address, PM Modi reiterated the holistic benefits of yoga, stating that the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga is leading the preparations for International Yoga Day 2025, including a 100-day countdown and 10 unique events.
