Riteish Deshmukh’s historical drama Raja Shivaji continued its theatrical run on Day 2, showing a slight decline in collections after a strong opening. The film, which depicts the early life of Shivaji Bhosale and his struggle against dominant powers to establish Hindavi Swarajya, has maintained steady overall momentum at the box office despite the dip.
According to trade tracking platform Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji earned a nett ₹10.55 crore on its second day across 6,275 shows. This represents a drop of around 7% from its opening day collection of ₹11.35 crore. With this, the film’s total domestic nett collection has reached ₹21.90 crore, while the gross earnings stand at approximately ₹26.06 crore within just two days of release.
The film continues to perform significantly better in the Marathi language version compared to its Hindi release. On Day 2, the Marathi version contributed around ₹7.15 crore, while the Hindi version added approximately ₹3.40 crore. This language-wise split highlights stronger regional audience engagement, particularly in Maharashtra, where the subject matter has deeper cultural resonance.

Occupancy trends further reflect this divide. The Hindi version registered an overall occupancy of 20.46% across 3,041 shows, indicating moderate turnout in urban multiplex circuits. In contrast, the Marathi version recorded a much stronger 55.71% overall occupancy, driven by sustained interest throughout the day.
The Marathi 2D shows also demonstrated rising audience traction as the day progressed. Morning screenings opened at 30.57% occupancy and steadily climbed to 57.00% in afternoon shows. Evening occupancy increased further to 63.57%, while night shows peaked at 71.71%, suggesting positive word-of-mouth and growing viewer engagement.
Produced by Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company, the film features a large ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Boman Irani, Amol Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh, with Salman Khan appearing in a cameo role. Despite the minor drop in Day 2 earnings, the film’s early performance indicates stable audience interest and strong regional appeal.
