Rajasthan's Anti-Gangster Task Force scored a major international win by orchestrating the arrest of Jagdeep Singh, alias Jagga, a hardcore operative of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate, near the US-Canada border on October 27, 2025. The 35-year-old from Punjab's Moga district had been on the run for years, directing extortion and violence from abroad while staying tightly linked to both the jailed Bishnoi and the rising Rohit Godara faction. Now in US custody, Jagga faces swift extradition back to India, where he is wanted in over a dozen murder, attempt-to-murder, and extortion cases across Punjab and Rajasthan.
The AGTF, led by Additional Director General Dinesh M.N., tracked Jagga for over three years using sustained surveillance, technical intercepts, and diplomatic coordination. Declared a proclaimed offender by multiple courts, he was tied to the 2017 firing at Dr. Sunil Chandak in Jodhpur’s Pratap Nagar and the brutal murder of businessman Vasudev Israni in Sardarpura the same year. After securing bail, Jagga fled India via passport, first to Dubai, then illegally into the US around 2022, where he allegedly managed money laundering, arms supply, and logistical support for the gang’s overseas operations.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Jagga during a routine border check, acting on precise intelligence from the AGTF. He is currently held in a federal facility as deportation proceedings advance under the US-India extradition treaty. Rajasthan Police are preparing a detailed interrogation plan upon his return, aiming to dismantle hidden funding channels and expose accomplices linked to high-profile crimes, including the 2022 Sidhu Moose Wala assassination orchestrated by the same network.

This capture is part of a broader crackdown on the Bishnoi empire, which has claimed over 100 lives in gang wars across northern India and Canada. Recent raids in Punjab uncovered arms caches allegedly arranged by Jagga, while parallel operations have led to arrests in Thailand and the UAE. With Bishnoi behind bars in Sabarmati Jail and Godara operating in the shadows abroad, Jagga’s extradition could crack open the syndicate’s command structure and financial backbone.
The arrest sends a clear message: no border offers sanctuary to India’s most wanted. Upon return, Jagga will face charges under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act, with life imprisonment looming. Community leaders in Punjab and Rajasthan welcomed the breakthrough, calling for continued efforts to stop youth from falling into gang life. This operation reinforces India’s resolve to dismantle transnational crime networks, one fugitive at a time.
