The Punjab Government has announced a new initiative to assist children with cancer in accessing treatment in other states, aiming to reduce delays and ensure timely medical care for young patients. The move comes as part of the state’s broader effort to strengthen healthcare support for children battling life-threatening illnesses.

Under the program, families of children diagnosed with cancer will receive financial and logistical support to travel to specialized hospitals outside Punjab if required. Health authorities emphasized that early intervention and access to advanced treatment facilities are critical to improving survival rates for pediatric cancer patients.

Officials noted that the initiative will cover expenses such as travel, accommodation, and certain medical costs, making treatment more accessible to families who might otherwise face financial barriers. The government is coordinating with hospitals in neighboring states to streamline admissions and ensure continuity of care.
