Saurabh Bothra, a certified yoga expert and co-founder and CEO of Habuild, said completely avoiding social media may not be the most practical solution. Instead, he suggested strengthening one's ability to remain connected with oneself despite the constant flow of online information. According to Bothra, yoga can support this process by encouraging mindfulness, relaxation and emotional balance. "Entirely stopping the use of social media is not the solution.
The real solution is to strengthen our ability to stay connected with ourselves, regardless of what we see online. Yoga helps us do exactly that," Bothra told HT Lifestyle. One of the poses recommended by the yoga expert is Balasana (Child's Pose), a simple posture often associated with relaxation and stress relief. The pose can help calm the mind and release tension caused by continuous mental stimulation. To practise Balasana, begin by kneeling on the floor with your big toes touching.

Slowly sit back on your heels and extend your arms forward while lowering your forehead towards the ground. Maintain a comfortable position and focus on steady breathing. Another beneficial practice is Sukhasana (Easy Pose), a seated posture commonly used for meditation and breathing exercises. The pose encourages stillness and can help individuals develop awareness of their thoughts and emotions. To practise it, sit comfortably with your legs crossed, keep your spine upright and place your hands on your knees.
Close your eyes and focus on slow, controlled breathing for a few minutes. The third pose suggested is Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing), a breathing technique used in yoga practices to promote relaxation and mental clarity. It involves gently inhaling and exhaling through alternate nostrils while maintaining a calm breathing rhythm. Regular practice may help individuals slow down racing thoughts and create a sense of inner stability.
