The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas in the lead role, is set to hit theatres on Thursday, January 9, and has already generated significant momentum at advance booking counters. Directed by Maruthi, the horror-comedy marks Prabhas’ return to a lighter, entertainment-driven genre after a string of action-packed films, adding to audience curiosity.
Made on an estimated budget of nearly Rs 400 crore, The Raja Saab is among the most ambitious releases of the year. The film features Prabhas in a dual role and is scheduled for a wide multilingual release in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, ensuring extensive reach across domestic and overseas markets.
In North America, the film has delivered an impressive pre-release performance, crossing $1.1 million in premiere advance ticket sales. The makers shared the achievement on social media, highlighting the strong overseas demand ahead of the film’s January 8 premieres, managed by international distributors Prathyangira US and People Cinemas.

Back home in India, The Raja Saab has also recorded a solid opening in advance bookings. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has collected approximately Rs 3.55 crore from advance ticket sales so far, which rises to Rs 8.62 crore when blocked seats are included. Over 1.29 lakh tickets have been sold across more than 3,600 shows nationwide.
The Telugu version is currently leading the domestic advance booking race, with nearly 85,000 tickets sold across 1,384 shows at an average ticket price of around Rs 220. The bookings span Hindi and Telugu 2D formats, along with premium Dolby Cinema screenings, indicating strong audience interest across formats.
The film has received a UA (16+) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with an approved runtime of 189 minutes. Reports suggest minor censor modifications were made to gory scenes. Alongside Prabhas, the film stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar, with key roles by Sanjay Dutt and reported appearances by Boman Irani and Suniel Shetty, further boosting expectations ahead of release.
