Border 2 has emerged as a massive box office success, earning nearly Rs 196 crore within five days of its release. Amid the film’s strong performance, actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has struck an emotional chord with fans by sharing a heartfelt reflection on his connection with the original 1997 classic Border.
In a video shared on his Instagram, Diljit recalled the nationwide buzz surrounding Border during its release. He revealed that during his childhood, his family neither allowed nor could afford visits to movie theatres. As a result, he first watched Border much later when it aired on television.
Diljit spoke about the excitement he felt hearing people describe the electrifying atmosphere inside theatres. Stories from neighbours who had watched the film only heightened his anticipation, making him eagerly wait for its television premiere. He said he ended up watching Border multiple times, calling it a film that truly belonged to the nation.

Expressing deep humility, Diljit shared his emotional response to being part of Border 2. He stated that he does not consider himself worthy of being associated with such a legendary franchise and sees the opportunity as a divine blessing, for which he remains immensely grateful.
In Border 2, Diljit portrays Indian Air Force officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, a role that has earned praise for its sincerity and impact. His performance has resonated strongly with audiences, adding emotional depth to the patriotic narrative of the film.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 serves as a sequel to JP Dutta’s iconic war film and features Sunny Deol reprising his role, alongside Varun Dhawan, Ahaan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh. The film blends nostalgia with modern storytelling, reinforcing its strong appeal across generations.
