Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has kicked off shooting for the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), the beloved quiz show that has enthralled Indian audiences since 2000. Set to premiere on August 11, 2025, the new season marks the show’s 25th anniversary with fresh contestants, challenging questions, and special surprises, as announced by Sony Entertainment Television.

The makers promise an electrifying opening episode filled with exciting announcements, ensuring KBC 17 remains a cornerstone of Indian television. To celebrate the milestone, Sony TV launched the campaign #JahanAkalHaiWahaanAkadHai, which champions the pride and confidence that come with knowledge, resonating with the show’s mission to empower intellect.

Bachchan, who has hosted KBC since its inception (except for 2003), shared his emotions on his blog: “At work… early rise, early work… first day of KBC new season… the nerves, the shaking knees, the apprehension.” His humility shines through as he credited the contestants and audience, stating, “They are, so we are… my wishes and prayers to them all.”
