As the Malayalam film industry gears up for the release of Mammootty's highly anticipated action thriller Bazooka, actor Mohanlal has extended his heartfelt wishes to his long-time friend and colleague. Sharing the pre-release trailer on social media, Mohanlal wrote, 'Best wishes dear Ichakka and team,' using the affectionate nickname for Mammootty.
Directed by debutant Dino Dennis, Bazooka is being marketed as Malayalam cinema's first 'game thriller,' promising a gripping gangster drama with high-stakes action sequences. The film features Mammootty in a stylish and intense role, supported by a stellar cast including Gautham Vasudev Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, and Divya Pillai.
The pre-release trailer showcased Mammootty's commanding presence and punchy dialogues. With music by Midhun Mukundan and cinematography by Nimish Ravi, the film is set to be a major release, hitting around 300 screens in Kerala alone.
The film revolves around a mysterious character played by Mammootty, described as 'Mr. Nobody but definitely a somebody,' hinting at layers of intrigue and complexity. The storyline follows a cop and a businessman teaming up to capture a serial killer, using elaborate games as their strategy. Gautham Vasudev Menon, who plays ACP Benjamin Joshua, adds depth to the narrative with his portrayal of a no-nonsense cop. He incidentally directed Mammootty in his previous movie Dominic and the Ladies' Purse. It had an average run in the theatres and is awaiting its release on OTT.
Mohanlal's gesture highlights the camaraderie between the two megastars, who have consistently supported each other's work over the years
