Veteran Malayalam Actor and production controller Kannan Pattambi passed away late on January 4, 2026, at the age of 62 while undergoing treatment for a kidney-related ailment at a private hospital in Kozhikode. The news was confirmed by his brother, Filmmaker and former Indian Army Officer Major Ravi, through a poignant Facebook post in Malayalam. Major Ravi shared a photo of Kannan, announcing that his younger brother breathed his last at 11:41 PM. He informed followers that the funeral would be held at the family home in Njangattiri, Pattambi, at 4 PM on January 5. Ravi concluded his message with "Om Shanti," bidding farewell to his sibling.
Kannan Pattambi had been a key figure in the Malayalam film industry for several years, contributing both as an actor and production controller. He was particularly known for his collaborations with his brother Major Ravi on projects inspired by military and national security themes.
