The Malayalam thriller Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal, continues its strong run at the Indian and global box office despite witnessing a predictable mid-week slowdown in collections. Released on May 21, the film maintained solid momentum through its opening weekend before experiencing a drop in earnings during weekdays, a typical trend for major theatrical releases.
On Day 6 (Tuesday), the film collected ₹6.45 crore net in India across 4,668 shows, reflecting a decline of 16.2% compared to the previous day’s earnings of ₹7.70 crore. With this, the domestic net total has reached ₹68.60 crore, while the India gross collection stands at ₹79.62 crore within just six days of release. Despite the dip, trade analysts say the film remains on a stable trajectory given its strong initial weekend performance.
The film had opened to an impressive extended weekend, earning ₹15.85 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹11.05 crore on Day 2. Collections picked up again over the weekend, with ₹13.70 crore on Saturday and ₹13.85 crore on Sunday, before slipping to ₹7.70 crore on Monday and ₹6.45 crore on Tuesday. The opening performance highlights sustained audience interest in the franchise’s latest installment.

Internationally, Drishyam 3 has also delivered strong numbers. On Day 6 alone, it earned approximately ₹6 crore from overseas markets, taking its total international gross to ₹90.70 crore. Combined with domestic earnings, the film’s worldwide gross has now reached an impressive ₹170.32 crore in just under a week, indicating robust global appeal for the franchise.
Language-wise performance shows Malayalam audiences leading contributions with ₹59.05 crore, followed by Telugu at ₹5.85 crore, Tamil at ₹2.60 crore, and Kannada at ₹1.10 crore. The strong regional response underscores the franchise’s established popularity, particularly in its home market, while also reflecting its expanding reach across other South Indian languages.
Despite mixed critical reception, the film has maintained steady commercial traction. With a reported production budget of around ₹100 crore, industry experts suggest that sustained weekday performance and upcoming weekend collections will be crucial in determining whether the film emerges as a major box office success. Early reviews have praised its thematic depth, noting its focus on long-held secrets and psychological tension within the narrative framework.
