Peter Parker’s next cinematic adventure has officially been titled “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” set to begin filming this summer, as announced by director Destin Daniel Cretton at CinemaCon.
Despite Tom Holland’s absence at the Las Vegas convention, where he is currently filming Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” alongside Matt Damon, Zendaya, and Anne Hathaway, the actor sent a video message teasing the upcoming superhero film.
“I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie,” Holland expressed. “I know we left you with a massive cliffhanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
Known for unintentional spoiler reveals in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Holland assured fans, “That’s all I’ve been allowed to say. And I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried. I’m not going to do that today.”
The plot details of the upcoming July 31, 2026 release remain under wraps, with the creative team working diligently to develop the storyline.
“I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” Cretton shared. “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to reprise their roles as MJ and Ned, respectively, while Sadie Sink has joined the cast in an undisclosed role, sparking speculation about portraying “X-Men” mutant Jean Grey.
Cretton remained tight-lipped on casting specifics but praised the creative efforts behind bringing Spider-Man’s story back to the big screen.
