Singer Shakira has announced that she will donate all royalties from “Dai Dai”, the official anthem of the FIFA World Cup 2026, to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, marking a major philanthropic initiative tied to the global football tournament. The song, a collaboration with Nigerian artist Burna Boy, was unveiled during the Global Citizen NOW event in New York.
The FIFA and Global Citizen-backed initiative aims to raise $100 million by the end of the 2026 World Cup, with funds directed toward improving access to education and sports for children worldwide. In addition to Shakira’s royalty pledge, Sony Music Latin has also committed to matching the first $250,000 raised through the campaign, further boosting early contributions to the fund.
Shakira has extended her commitment beyond the song, announcing that she will donate $1 from every ticket sold during her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran world tour. The initiative adds another layer of fundraising linked to her global performances, reinforcing the project’s focus on long-term educational support for underserved communities.

Burna Boy, who features on the track, said the collaboration reflects the unifying power of music and sport. He described the World Cup as one of the few global events experienced collectively across cultures, adding that football and music share a universal language that connects people regardless of background.
The release of “Dai Dai” comes ahead of another milestone FIFA event, with Shakira also scheduled to perform at the World Cup 2026 final alongside Madonna and BTS. The match will feature a halftime show for the first time in World Cup history, with proceeds from associated initiatives also contributing to the education fund.
