Malayalam cinema icon Prithviraj Sukumaran announced the start of production for his ambitious action thriller Khalifa via Instagram, sharing a clapboard snap captioned, “Aamir Ali will see you soon! #KHALIFA.” Directed by Vysakh, renowned for hits like Pokkiri Raja and Pulimurugan, the film began with a traditional pooja and switch-on ceremony on July 16, marking the launch of its first shooting schedule in London, set for August 6.

Backed by Jiinu Abraham Innovation, Khalifa boasts a stellar crew, including cinematographer Jomon T. John, music composer Jakes Bejoy, editor Chaman Chakko, and art director Shajie Naduvil. The big-budget project, penned by Jinu Abraham, promises a gripping revenge saga with Prithviraj as Aamir Ali, with filming planned across London, Dubai, Nepal, and Kerala. Social media buzz on X highlights fans’ excitement for the film’s high-octane action and star-studded cast.

Prithviraj’s next release, Sarzameen, alongside Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan, streams on JioHotstar from July 25, adding to the anticipation for Khalifa’s theatrical debut.
