Actor Mamta Kulkarni has shared her views on Rana Ji 2.0, the recreated version of the iconic song Mujhko Ranaji Maaf Karna from the 1995 film Karan Arjun. The remake features actor Mahira Sharma and has been choreographed by Remo D'Souza. Speaking about the new version, Kulkarni appreciated Mahira's performance while acknowledging the lasting popularity of the original track, which remains closely associated with her career.

In an interview with Variety India, Kulkarni praised Mahira Sharma's performance, saying, "She has done a good job." She noted that the remake presents the song in a contemporary style, contrasting it with the traditional look and choreography of the original. According to Kulkarni, the updated version adopts a Western aesthetic in terms of costume and dance moves, giving it a distinct identity while retaining the core appeal of the classic number.

Reflecting on the comparison between the two versions, Kulkarni said the original song continues to hold a special place in the minds of audiences because of its enduring popularity. She explained that whenever viewers watch the remake, memories of the original naturally come to mind, highlighting the emotional connection many fans have with the 1995 version.
