Dwayne Johnson, famously known as "The Rock," has joined the voice cast of the upcoming animated film Zootopia 2, set to release worldwide on November 26, 2025. He will lend his voice to a new character named Zeke, an accident-prone dik-dik. His role is a cameo among a star-studded ensemble that includes returning voices such as Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps and Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde.
The sequel, directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard and written by Bush, expands the original film's universe with new characters from beloved Disney films like Moana, Frozen, The Princess and the Frog, and Encanto. Alongside Johnson, notable voice actors include Auliʻi Cravalho, Josh Gad, Anika Noni Rose, and Stephanie Beatriz. The story follows Judy and Nick as they investigate a mysterious reptile named Gary De'Snake, voiced by Ke Huy Quan, leading them on undercover adventures in new locations within Zootopia.
Besides Johnson’s cameo, the film features a diverse cast returning from the first Zootopia movie, such as Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Shakira, and Tommy Chong. Additional fresh voices include Andy Samberg, Macaulay Culkin, David Strathairn, and Brenda Song, with musically inclined cameos by Ed Sheeran and Blake Slatkin as a pair of sheep. Robert Irwin, son of Steve Irwin, voices a koala named Robert Furwin.
